At Double O Outfitters, we are proud to offer a distinctive opportunity for hunters to combine different hunts during a single trip. Thanks to the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish (NMDGF), we are able to take advantage of coordinated hunting dates for specific species, allowing us to offer these exclusive combo hunts. This arrangement is ideal for hunters seeking to maximize their time in the field and pursue multiple species in one adventure. By blending different hunts, hunters can make the most of their trip, targeting a variety of game in a single hunting season.
The species available for these combo hunts include Elk, Mule Deer, and Black Bear, with the added option to pursue small game as well. A popular addition for many hunters is the fall turkey license, which pairs perfectly with the larger game hunts. This flexibility enables hunters to tailor their experience, increasing their chances of a successful and diverse hunt. Whether focusing on big game or adding small game for variety, our combo hunts offer a chance to enjoy multiple hunting experiences in one seamless trip.
To make the process as smooth as possible, we work with the NMDGF's draw system to ensure that your hunt dates align for the species you're targeting. Each species requires a separate application within this system, with Elk and Mule Deer being the primary species that need to be drawn. However, Black Bear and Turkey licenses are available over the counter in the units where we offer these hunts, making them an excellent addition to any trip. Additionally, we have the ability to secure Landowner Permits for Elk hunts, allowing you to combine an elk tag with a drawn mule deer tag, as long as the dates for both hunts overlap. This added flexibility ensures that hunters can fully take advantage of the hunting opportunities available during their visit.
